TEARS School Medical Clinic
As part of the TEARS School, medical care is provided by a local pediatrician, Dr. Norma, who generously gives of her time to help the children and their families. Those living in Maria Auxiliadora suffer from many health problems, with the amount of need greatly surpassing the number of available medical professionals. For this reason, the Medical Clinic forms a critical link in a community facing a range of health issues.
Lung Health Program
The University of Calgary, individuals and corporations are partnering with healthcare professionals in Maria Auxiliadora community to identify and care for children and adults with asthma and COPD. Lung testing and provision of medication has made a great difference in lives of those suffering with lung problems.
Eye Clinic
Partners from Calgary, Alberta (Lions Club and Varsity Bible Church) have provided the resources (eye glasses) and teams necessary to provide vision testing and eyeglasses to more than 500 people in the Maria Auxiliadora barrio.
